Custom Fabrication & General Engineering Services - Ordering & Payment

We offer custom marine products and engineering services for individual clients or businesses at our Mt Maunganui workshop. These products and services are unable to be purchsed online and require a quote to be approved before we build/design your product(s).

Payment: We'll provide a GST invoice for bank deposit via email .

What's the difference between 'In-stock Products' and 'Avaliable to order'?

Products that are in stock are clearly marked "In stock, ready to be shipped". We ship these products to you straight away.

'Avaliable to order' products are either custom made or these items are in stock with one of our suppliers and can be ordered.

We do present some less popular products that are held by our suppliers (usually the manufacturer distributor). These products are clearly marked with their availability - for example: "Usually ships within 6-13 days" or "Ships at a later date". If you order a product that is marked like this then once you place your order, we immediately place an order with the supplier. Depending on where the supplier is located it can take anywhere from 1–3 business days for your item to be dispatched from our warehouse, or up to 5 weeks if the supplier is based overseas.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you offer free shipping?

Free tracked shipping on all NZ orders! (Yes, even rural!)

How long will it take?

  • Orders are processed in 1-5 business days. Generally, your order will be ready to ship within this timeframe (excluding weekends and holidays) after you receive your order confirmation email.
  • Most products will get to you from 3-10 business days.
  • Sometimes, we get products from international suppliers. This means it might take a bit longer for them to get to us, and then to you. If the item is on backorder or there is any delay we will reach out to you on your contact info provided at checkout.

There are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Super long stuff (over 1.5 meters) can't be shipped to rural areas. We'll let you know on the product page if this applies.
  • Custom-made goods might take a bit longer since we're making them just for you! We'll also give you an estimated build time on the product page.
  • We can't ship to P.O. boxes yet.

If your order has any delays, we'll let you know directly. Once it ships, you'll get a tracking number so you can stalk its journey to your doorstep.

International shipping? ✈️ Not yet, but stay tuned! We currently only ship within New Zealand.

Returns & Refunds

Refund Policy

We have a 30-day refund & returns policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to make a request.

Fill out the Contact us form with your personal details, order number and which item you would like to return.

We'll assess your request and send you an email with instructions on how to return the item back to us.

Damages & Issues

In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email us as soon as possible at info@mountmarine.co.nz with your order number and a photo of the item’s condition. We address these on a case-by-case basis but will do our best to work towards a satisfactory solution.

Exceptions and non-returnable items

Certain types of items cannot be returned, like custom products (such as special orders or personalised items). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale or clearance items.

Refund processing times

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days.

Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return or refund, please contact us at info@mountmarine.co.nz.

Warranty

Mount Marine Engineering Product & Service Warranty

Custom Modifications

The Mount Marine Engineering Custom Modifications warranty is for 2 years from the date of receipt. The Warranty will be honoured based on the following criteria:

  • Modification was purchased directly from Mount Marine Engineering.
  • Modification was installed by Mount Marine Engineering and no further repairs or modifications have been made by another entity since the time of purchase
  • The claim is made by the original purchasing entity stated on the Mount Marine Engineering tax invoice
  • Claim is made within the 2-year warranty period.

Mount Marine Products

Mount Marine Engineering Products warranty is for 5 years from the date of receipt. The Warranty will be honoured based on the following criteria:

  • Product(s) were purchased directly from Mount Marine Engineering.
  • Product(s) were installed according to the installation guide (for Bait Boards).
  • The claim is made by the original purchasing entity stated on the Mount Marine Engineering tax invoice
  • Claim is made within the 5-year warranty period.
  • Claim is made in writing to Mount Marine Engineering for review and rectification.

Note: Warranty claims should be accompanied by relevant documentation, such as purchase invoices and installation records.

How can I make a warranty claim?

If you require a product replacement or have a warranty query you can lodge a request using our contact form. Once your request is lodged we will check our records and contact you as soon as possible.

Please note: Some product like Minn Kota & Garmin have their own warranty procedures and the fastest way for you to have some queries resolved will be to reach out to them directly - we will offer advice on your next best steps if you have any questions.

Victron Energy Limited Warranty Policy

Victron Energy warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the end user, with a maximum of 66 months from the Victron Energy invoice date. Exceptions on this are: lead acid batteries; 2 years from date of purchase by the end user, with a maximum of 30 months from the Victron Energy invoice date, Lithium-ion batteries; 3 years from date of purchase by the end user. In addition to this proof of correct battery usage is required when making a battery warranty claim.

During this period, Victron Energy will, at its option, repair or replace the defective product free of charge. The warranty does not include performing or reimbursing de‐installation, transportation and re‐installation. This warranty will be considered void if the unit has suffered any physical damage or alteration, either internally or externally, and does not cover damages arising from improper use like:

  • Reverse of battery polarity.
  • Inadequate connection.
  • Mechanical shock or deformation.
  • Contact with liquid or oxidation by condensation.
  • Use in inappropriate environment (dust, corrosive vapor, humidity, high temperature, biological infestation...).
  • Breakage or damage due to lightning.
  • Connection terminals and screws destroyed or other damages, like overheat, due to insufficient tightening.
  • For any electronical breakage except due to lightning (reverse polarity, over‐voltage due to external cause), the state ofthe internal control diode and of the inputs/output X and Y capacitors determine the warranty.

This warranty will not apply where the product has been misused, neglected, improperly installed, or repaired by anyone else than Victron Energy or one of its authorized Qualified Service Partners. In order to qualify for the warranty, the product must not be disassembled or modified.

Repair or replacement are our sole remedies and Victron Energy shall not be liable for damages, whether direct, incidental,special, or consequential, even caused by negligence or fault.

Victron Energy owns all parts removed from repaired products. Victron Energy uses new or reconditioned parts made by various manufacturers in performing warranty repairs and building replacement products. If Victron Energy repairs or replaces a part of a product, its warranty term is not extended. In case of replacement the new component has a warranty of 6 months, without effect on the initial warranty period. All remedies and the measure for damages are limited to the above. Victron Energy shall in no event be liable for consequential, incidental, contingent orspecial damages, even if having been advised of the probability of such damages. Any and all other warranties expressed or implied arising by law, course of dealing, course of performance, usage of trade or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase.

Life Support Policy: As a general policy, Victron Energy, does not recommend the use of any of its products in life support applications where failure or malfunction of the Victron Energy's product can be reasonably expected to cause failure of the life support device or to significantly affect its safety or effectiveness. Victron Energy does not recommend the use of any of its products in direct patient care. Victron Energy will not knowingly sell its products for use in such applications unless it receives in writing assurances satisfactory to Victron Energy that the risks of injury or damage have been minimized, the customer assumes all such risks, and the Liability of Victron Energy is adequately protected under the circumstances.

As a product requires service, it must be brought back to the place of purchase. In case no contact can be taken with the merchant, or if he is either unable or not allowed to provide service, direct contact should be taken with Victron Energy.

Warranty on Repairs: The warranty period on products or on printed circuits boards repaired by Victron Energy as well as on printed circuit boards for replacement is 6 months from delivery by Victron Energy.

Transport: It is the responsibility of the sender to sufficiently package these products. The transport must be organized in a way to avoid any damage, especially when a single unit or heavy unit is sent.

Severability: If a part of the terms and conditions set out above is held invalid, void or unenforceable due to any particular national or international legislation, it shall not affect other parts of the terms and conditions remaining.

For New Zealand customers only: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Oceansouth Product Warranty
  • All Oceansouth products come with a one year manufacturers warranty. To make a warranty claim, please email sales@mountmarine.co.nz with a dated proof of purchase, your order number and images of what is damaged/faulty.
  • When claiming a warranty, please note that any modifications made by a customer to oceansouth products will void any warranty. Also general wear and tear, over time is not to be claimed as a valid warranty.
  • Oceansouth will repair or replace products or parts of a product that prove to be defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance. Claims for warranty that have resulted from improper use will not be accepted.
Haswing Product Warranty

All Haswing motors are fresh and salt water compatible and backed by a 24 month warranty.
